Named for the Erinyes from Greek tragedy, the Erinys Quartet was founded in 2018 and is now the Nina von Maltzahn String Quartet-in-Residence at the Curtis Institute. The quartet has performed internationally, gaining accolades, and is supported by Le Dimore del Quartetto.
ABOUT ROBERTO DÍAZ, VIOLA (click to show/hide details)
Roberto Díaz is a renowned violist and president of the Curtis Institute. He has performed globally with top conductors and has worked with prominent contemporary composers, including Penderecki and Higdon. He is a key figure in American music as both a performer and educator.
ABOUT PETER WILEY, CELLO (click to show/hide details)
Peter Wiley, a Grammy-nominated cellist, joined Curtis at 13 and later became principal cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony. He was a member of the Beaux Arts Trio and the Guarneri String Quartet and currently teaches at Curtis and Bard College.
